How the Porcupines Survived the Ice Age – A Story about our Need for Relationships

This is a story about when the Ice Age came and porcupines had to find a way to survive.
At first they decided to group together to keep warm and protect one another.
Unfortunately, their spiky quills made it uncomfortable to stay in such close proximity, so they dispersed.
Of course, this left them exposed to the elements and they started to freeze to death until they realized that they needed to make a significant choice.
Stay apart and die, or tolerate and accept their fellow porcupines’ thorns and survive.
Wisely, they chose to stay together, knowing that the small wounds that they received from each other was worth it in the end.
We’re porcupines!
We are prickly and so often find a way to offend and take offense to those around us.
Sometimes, it can become so unbearable that we wish we could live in isolation, protected from the barbs of others.
Alas, we are created to be social beings and being left alone only decreases our standard of living.
The next time you are hurt by the prickly nature of one of your fellow porcupines, remember that you have spikes as well and can be just as challenging to live with.
Let’s learn to live with the sharp quills of others and hope and pray that those around us can learn to live with ours.

The obstacle in our path

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the person who removed the boulder from the roadway.
The peasant learned what many of us never understand!
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

Love everyone and be loved

A kindergarten teacher decided to let her class play a game....
The teacher told each child in the class to bring along a plastic bag containing a few potatoes.
Each potato will be given a name of a person that the child hates.
So the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her plastic bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates. So when the day came, each child brought some potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes.
The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the plastic bag wherever they go (even to the toilet) for 1 week. Days after days passed by, and the children started to complain due to the unpleasant smell let out by the rotten potatoes. Besides, those having 5 potatoes also had to carry heavier bags. After 1 week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended...
The teacher asked: "How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for 1 week?". The children let out their frustrations and started complaining of the trouble that they had to go through having to carry the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they go. Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game. The teacher said: "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just 1 week, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime???"

Moral of the story: Throw away any hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry sins for a lifetime.
Forgiving others is the best attitude to take! Love Everyone & Be Loved

What is Life?

Once a follower asked his Guruji, “Guruji why we are born? What is the purpose of life? Why we are doing all kind of things in this world and were we will go once we are dead?????? Guruji told, son kindly switch off all the lights in the room and hearing this the follower switched off the lights, then guruji continued, son kindly take that match box and light this candle and the follower did it.Then guruji asked him to blow of the candle and the follower blowed it off.
Guruji: Son what happened when the lights were off?
Follower: It was very dark
Guruji: when you lighted the candle what happened?
Follower: Light came
Guruji: where does the light come from?
Follower: don’t know guruji
Guruji: ok when you blowed off the candle where the lights went
Follower: don’t know guruji.
Guruji: Son Life is simple as this. Don’t ever worry or think in your life where you came from and where you are going after death .When the candle was lighted it gave light to the dark room, same way just be like that candle and give light (Help) to living things around you till you are going to live in this world. Life is all about Living and helping others.

The way you face life makes the difference

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big advice on the door on which it was written: “Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym”. In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself.
The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. Everyone thought: “Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died!” One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul. There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could see himself.
There was also a sign next to the mirror that said: “There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU.” You are the only person who can revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself. Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your partner changes, when your company changes. Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life. “The most important relationship you can have is the one you have with yourself” . Moral: The world is like a mirror: it gives back to anyone the reflection of the thoughts in which one has strongly believed. The world and your reality are like mirrors lying in a coffin, which show to any individual the death of his divine capability to imagine and create his happiness and his success. It’s the way you face Life that makes the difference.

THE LAW OF SEED!!

Whenever you are feeling down because of failures and mistakes you made in life, do take time out to think about this law of seed.
I am sure it will make you feel much better and ready to get up and get going.
Take a look at an apple tree. There might be five hundred apples on the tree, each with ten seeds.
That's a lot of seeds! We might ask, "Why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few more trees?"
Nature has something to teach us here. It's telling us: "Most seeds never grow. So if you really want to make something happen, you better try more than once."
This might mean:
You'll attend twenty interviews to get one job.
You'll interview forty people to find one good employee.
You'll talk to fifty people to sell one house, car, idea etc.
And you might meet a hundred acquaintances to find one special friend.
When we understand the "Law of the Seed", we don't get so disappointed. We stop feeling like victims.
Laws of nature are not things to take personally.
We just need to understand them - and work with them.
IN A NUTSHELL
"Successful people fail more often. They plant more seeds."

TIME IS MONEY

Imagine there is a bank that credits your account each morning with $86,400.
It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day.
What would you do?
Draw out every cent, of course!!!
Each of us has such a bank. Its name is TIME.
Every morning, it credits you with 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off, as lost, whatever of this you have failed to invest to good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no overdraft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours.
There is no going back. There is no drawing against the "tomorrow". You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success!
The clock is running. Make the most of today.
